Congrats Diana Nyad: You Dared and you Did It!

Yesterday, American 64-year-old long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad became the first person to swim across the Florida Straits from Cuba without a shark cage. This was her her fifth attempt!

I love this quote from Reuters:

“Her face sunburned and lips swollen, with barely enough energy to speak, Nyad waded ashore at Key West after a 53-hour swim and delivered a simple message to onlookers: ‘We should never, ever give up . . . You never are too old to chase your dreams.’”

Below is her 2011 TED Talk. You can watch it here or you can use this link if you’re reading this post via email.  You can also pre-order her documentary, The Other Shore, here.

Here’s to daring greatly. Diana – you inspire us! And you’re knocking at my cellar door.

Well…there’s never a power more great than your own that you can’t defeat! AWESOME!

  2. I think this posting , “Congrats Diana Nyad:
You Dared and you Did It! – Brené Brown”, relatively pleasurable and also it was
in fact a fantastic read. Thanks a lot,Millard

  3. I drop a comment when I especially enjoy a post on a blog
or I have something to add to the conversation. Usually it’s caused by the fire displayed in the article
I looked at. And after this article Congrats Diana Nyad:
You Dared and you Did It! – Brené Brown. I was actually excited enough to post a comment
;-) I actually do have a couple of questions for you if you do not
mind. Could it be only me or do some of the remarks
look as if they are written by brain dead people? :-P
And, if you are posting at additional places, I’d like to keep up with everything
fresh you have to post. Would you make a list all of all
your social pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

  4. I was curious if you ever considered changing the structure of
your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two pictures.
Maybe you could space it out better?
